William J. and Jennie E. Bacarella and Family

First-generation Italian immigrants, William and Jennie Bacarella didn’t obtain an education beyond high school yet they knew that with a college education you could have a better job and a better life. It was that message that they instilled in their three children, all of whom graduated from Monroe County Community College and went on to earn bachelor’s and advanced degrees from four-year universities. Lifelong residents of Monroe, they established this scholarship to help MCCC students and in turn, give back to the country and community that have been so good to them and their family.
