The Jerry Mosingo Family and the Anthony Cobb Family

Mary Mosingo Cobb was born June 25, 1948, raised and proud to be from Monroe. Mary was the daughter of Silas & Gladis Mosingo. Her Father pastored several churches while raising his family in Monroe. Mary had 4 siblings, older brother Harold, younger brother Jerry Mosingo, younger sisters Pansy Mosingo Heath and Valorie Mosingo Medley. She was a member of the Monroe High School Class of 1967. Mary married Tony Cobb October 2, 1976, in Speedwell TN. They resided in Monroe until Mary’s death. Mary and Tony had a daughter Sarah and 3 loving pets Georgia, Buddy and Lizzie.

She attended Monroe Public Schools. Mary worked in multiple local bakeries. She was self-employed with her husband Tony. They had a cleaning and painting business. Most of all Mary loved being a mother, wife and homemaker. Mary had a passion for Life but even more so for Christ. Mary had ministered as an Evangelist, for the Cleveland Assembly; Church of God. She has also been a devoted member of the North Monroe Street Church of God Mountain Assembly and a faithful inspiration to many.

She also enjoyed gardening, including vegetables and tomatoes. Mary loved to share her pickings; especially apples from the Adrian Apple Orchard. Mary was also an active member of the Relay for Life, and she was the Founder, Captain, and Inspirational Leader of the “Mosingo’s Miracles” team. Mary’s love for family and friends was witnessed through the multitude of lives she touched. Photography of everything was a favorite pastime.

Mary had health related issues as a child that made it difficult for her to attend school. Because of this, higher learning/education became important to Mary.

The scholarship in Mary’s name was created to honor her memory and the life she lived in Monroe Michigan. She passed away in 2008 from breast cancer after a 10 year battle with the disease. The scholarship is to assist students with financial need within the Early Childhood Development program. Church and/or community involvement is required with a statement to be included of why they chose to volunteer and what have they learned from that experience.
