Mrs. Doris Russell

This scholarship was established by Mrs. Doris Russell in memory of her husband, Milton G. Russell, to benefit the residents of Monroe County.

Milton G. Russell was born in 1933 in Tennessee and later moved to La Salle. He married Doris on New Year’s Eve 1955. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1955-1957 and was employed by the Chrysler Trenton Engine Plant for 20 years.

Mr. Russell was a member of Monroe Lodge 27, F and AM; Monroe Commandery 19, Knights Templar; River Raisin Chapter 22, Royal Arch Masons; the Shriners, and the Scottish Rite. He was a 32nd degree Mason and his hobbies included metal detecting, reading old western books, coin collecting and restoring antique Ford cars.
