John 'Corky' Hancock Memorial Foundation

Catherine Teifer established the scholarship in memory of her late husband, Corky, who passed away in 2015. She believes the scholarship is an accurate way to reflect his life by assisting students who are pursuing an education and career in the skilled trades.

Corky worked as a tool and die apprentice and later took over the helm of Hancock Enterprises, Inc., an 80-year-old metal manufacturing company as CEO following the passing of the company’s founder and his father, John, Sr.. “Corky believed that work in the skilled trades is a benchmark for success in our country,” Teifer said. “Without individual working in the skilled trades, we would not survive. Students need to remember there are many paths to success, including the skilled trades.”
