Bonnie Finzel Doster Altrusa International of Monroe

Bonnie Finzel Doster was a long time member of Altrusa International of Monroe MI. She served as president and on the board of directors numerous times. Her commitment to service and education reached into many areas of the community. She was in her thirties when she returned to college and received her teaching certificate. Bonnie touched the lives of thousands of people of all ages – students, community members, family and friends through her love of teaching. The Altrusa scholarship gives a helping hand to women returning to the work force. This scholarship epitomizes all that Bonnie stood for in the community.

District Five is composed of 28 clubs is located in the lower portion of Michigan and all of Ohio. There are six clubs in Michigan and the remainder in Ohio. Our mission in Altrusa International and District Five is to improve communities worldwide by providing service, developing international leadership, fostering international understanding, and encouraging fellowship through an international network of dedicated volunteers. Our emphasis is on literacy and provides many service projects according to the needs of each of our communities. This contributes to the great success of this wonderful organization.
